I wrote this post in response to New Year’s resolutions, but have found it healing for the soul to share with you.
The Word of God does not promise all things are made new because it is a New Year, and there is no mention of resolutions being made every year. These are worldly traditions. God invites us to resolve to seek Him first every day, and then all things will be added to us.
Nothing became new in our soul because the clock turned over from 11:59 PM on December 31rst to January 1rst. The Lord has written the only way this happens is by accepting Christ as our Savior. If you want to be made new, accept His cleansing and resolve to seek Him first this year. Make reservations with God daily instead of resolutions.
God wants for us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers. When we decide to trust in Him and make time with Him, we find healing for the soul. Praying for your blessed new year every day as you seek reservations with God!
