Magnanimous Riches of His Grace

Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes.

David Crowder Band

Have you ever had such gratitude for the great riches of God’s mercy and His grace? So much so that you never seem to get to the depth of it, and tears well up in your eyes from the fact that God would tell you that you are deemed worthy of such graces. All because our Savior came to make us accepted in the Beloved. Such as those are running down my face as I ponder the riches of His grace toward me today.

Whose worthiness is our daily walk with God based upon? That of Christ Jesus or our own? The fulfillment of the law through sacrifice all so that we may become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus makes us worthy. (see 2 Corinthians 5:21) His worth is ours. A gift freely given and simply accepted.

Today I wanted to explore those riches from a standpoint of what is now, what was, and what is to come through nine Bible verses. As you ponder each one think of how it impacts us in time. God is outside of time, yet His words say He was, and is, and is to come. He is all that at the same time. Truly expressing the magnanimous riches of His grace!

Magnanimous according to the Oxford dictionary means generous or forgiving, especially toward a rival or less powerful person.

Ephesians 2:7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

This verse in time relates to “is to come” perpetually.

Think about the rest listed below, and receive the richness!

Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Romans 9:2323 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—

Ephesians 1:7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

Philippians 4:1919 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:1414 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Titus 3:6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior

2 Corinthians 9:8And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

1 Peter 5:1010 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

If you would like to list in the comments below what riches you have found in the one who was, and is, and is to come, or three of today’s grace gifts I would love to hear from you.

P.S. If you know someone who would be encouraged by this post would you please share it with them. I would love them to be encouraged today!
