As the men departed from their meal with Jesus back down the road from Emmaus toward Jerusalem they spoke of how their hearts burned within them. Let us pray that ours burns within us as the Lord reveals Himself to us throughout scripture too.
Father,
Please reveal to us the hidden ways in which your Son is written in scripture. Allow our hearts to burn with the revelation just as the disciples did as they hurried back toward Jerusalem to share that they had been with Jesus with the others who were still mourning the loss of Him. Renew a fire within us I pray. In Jesus name, Amen.
Continuing on in Genesis we don’t have to go to far and we will once again find Jesus revealed. It is in Genesis chapter 3 that we will focus our magnifying glass today. In this chapter we see the story of the fall of man and the consequences of the fall.
Genesis 3:1-24 NIV If you hover over the box here you can read the entire passage.
Now lets focus in on the verse that contains the word offspring. In other translations this word is seed.

In fact, in the King James Version, the following verse may explain what we are trying to understand a bit better.
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:15 KJV
Here we notice that the word offspring has been changed to the word seed. This is representative of Jesus. The seed of the woman who would be Mary. We know this because the seed is first an it and then later in the verse becomes his. In the second half of the verse notice the words, “it” shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise “his” heel.
So now we understand that the seed is a he. That is why in the NIV the seed is translated as offspring.
So here we will begin our memorization of who Jesus is throughout scripture.
This week memorize the following:
In Genesis He is the seed of the woman. Genesis 3:15
Next week we will continue our study of Jesus throughout scripture.
