Yep, I’m a Wallflower

I’m really carrying this secret. I may nod and smile, and I may seem to be the life of the party, but really down deep on the inside, yep, I am a wallflower.

You know those really interesting people who never leave the wall at the party.

Conjectures are made at their identity and their personality, and really just who they really are on the inside until someone walks up to them and says hello.

Yes, I am that girl. Until I get to know you.

Because I am making sure I want to put down roots in the garden you are growing in.

Why? Well, I have tried to grow in some pretty awful places and just decided that I don’t want to just put roots down anywhere.

No, I want to put them down where they will be nourished, and I will bloom and be all I can be.

Where I can lend strength to you, and help you be all you can be.

So yes. I am a wallflower, but Jesus uses us wallflowers.

He plants us in just the right places, and at just the right time.

So if you happen to see one of us at a gathering you should really pop over and say hi.

Are you a wallflower?  What garden are you growing in?

The Lord will guide you always;
    he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
    and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
    like a spring whose waters never fail.

Isaiah 58:11 NIV
