It took me forever to call myself a writer. In fact, I chased many callings I thought were Gods plan for me. However, I wanted to be a writer within. Something ensued inside. A battle still raging. Insecurity, doubt, fear, and anything else that stifles the longing within to pen words of worth. I also face this as a vocalist, minister, wife, mother, and friend.
We all face this daily. This resistance that can leave us paralyzed. No complement lasts long that has been pushed to the recesses of our mind. It is here we grapple with our inner critic and our best cheerleader. We have to choose to push back with each step we take. No one is immune.
What would it look like for you to live the life hidden within? What is the desire of your heart? Why do you doubt that it can be lived to the glory of God?
Meditate on these verses. Go deeper and journal about the life within.
Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 NIV
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Can I pray for you?
Heavenly Abba,
You knew your plans for us before we were formed in our mothers womb. The resistance towards what calling lies deep within is not to be overcome without you. Strengthen our resolve to be changed and live from the inside out. Help us glorify you with it even if it seems so small. If you put these desires in our heart then they surely are meant to glorify you. Allow us to see the benefit to others that fits into the kingdom plan. Open our eyes to what we would not normally see, and our ears to hear your voice. To hear the songs you sing over us as you take delight in who you have created. Thank you for helping us overcome the resistance. Blessed be your name now and forever. In Jesus name we ask these things, and thank you for them even now.
