Moment with God: Surrender

Walking by Faith

For two solid years my family and I pursued what we believed was God’s will for our lives.  We struggled in our faith, we stumbles at times in our walk, and we learned a great deal of things that we wouldn’t have had we not pursued it.

However, it was very hard to give up when things were not working.  In fact in brought me to tears.  The fight was long, and I was worn to the marrow.  Dry and thirsty of heart, and yet those tears seemed to quench my thirst.

Surrendering Pursuit

I just surrendered the pursuit, and told God that I didn’t have a clue why He had us go this way, and why things did not work out.  When I did He faithfully reminded me through a Christian radio program that I was chosen and not a failure.

I currently do not know what God is up to in my life, but do we really ever know? Usually there is just enough light to take the next step.  We must walk by faith and not by sight.  What I have definitely taken away from this experience is that God has a plan.  It may not be the plan I had, but for some reason I am supposed to be right here in this place for this season.  This did not take Him by surprise as it did me.

The Unbecoming

I also recognize that walking by faith is a process in which we don’t always know what we are becoming, but there is an unbecoming along the way.  It reminds me of a sculpture.  No matter the material it is unbecoming what it was to be what the master craftsman envisions.

Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Jeremiah 18:2-4 KJV

Lightening the Load

Take heart Beloved.  He knows exactly where you are and how you feel about it.  He knows your intentions were to be faithful to Him.  He knows you are worn and weary.  Is it time to surrender to Him?  Cast your cares on Him.  Remember His burden is light. Let’s be faithful in the unknown.
