Strengthening the Front Lines of the Mind{Three: Helmet of Salvation}

Some days all we know is that we are saved!

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Romans 10:12-13 (NKJV)

This post includes a prayer of salvation below.

Stone Helmet by Peter Griffin

Helmet of Salvation

Our minds must be protected, but with specific armor.  It begins with the helmet of salvation.  We have to know, that we know, that we know we have been saved by faith.  The enemy comes against every Christian, no matter how long they have been following Jesus, to get them to deny salvation.

Choosing not to place the truth of our salvation on our head is like riding a motorcycle full speed into a brick wall without a helmet.  We won’t make it.

Salvation by Grace

By grace we have been saved, and that not if ourselves, but it is the gift of God! Ephesians 2:8

The enemy loves to whisper words of doubt and deception. He wants you to believe you have not been saved, and/or that you have to work for salvation.

If you have given your life to Christ then you are saved!

We are…

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:4-7 (NKJV)

We are being…

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Cor 1:18 (NKJV)

We will be…

22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Matt 10:22 (NKJV)

The day you gave your life to Christ was your spiritual birthday.  If you can remember that day then write it in your bible.  Writing it down gives you a weapon to break out when the enemy tempts you to believe you are not saved.

So if I am not saved, or I doubt I am, then what do I do?

The bible says…

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)

Salvation comes from a confession of sin, and a profession of belief in Jesus Christ as Savior.  If you believe Jesus came to give His life a ransom for yours then pray this prayer out loud.  He died on the cross for your sins and His will is that no one should perish.

God,

I confess that I am a sinner.  I believe that Jesus came and died on the cross for my sins.  I ask you to wash me clean as if I had never sinned.  Come into my heart and teach me who you are.  Rule and reign in my life by showing me your ways.  Guide me into all truth that I may know you and the power of your resurrection.  Help me to face those who don’t believe and would persecute (come against) me.  Help me find a body of believers in a local church who will help me grow and share your love with me.  Thank you Jesus that I am saved and that I have eternal life because of your sacrifice.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

If you prayed this prayer.  Tell someone you know who is a Christian.  Ask them to pray for you as you begin your walk as a believer in Jesus Christ.  If you don’t have a bible then it is important that you get one.  If you do then write down the date and time you prayed this prayer of salvation.  That is your spiritual birthday, and every time thoughts of you not being saved pop into your head you tell the enemy that you were saved on that date and at that specific time, and that he can’t lie to you.  Welcome to the kingdom of God!  All the angels rejoiced and there was a great party in heaven because you have been saved!!!

7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

Luke 15:6-7 (NKJV)

What Now?

Next start reading the bible and begin with the New Testament.  Find a bible believing church, and go there.  Make sure what they are teaching is backed up by what you can read yourself. Start praying to God.  He hears and He will protect your faith, and guide you if you trust Him.  Prayer is just a conversation like you would have with anyone else.

I’m praying for you, and Jesus did too…

Read John 17 in your bible or here.   Read verses 20-25 over and over again until you begin to gain an understanding.  He is still praying for you…

33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Romans 8:33-34 (NKJV)

He is for you, He still prays for you, and is not against you!

All the work that has to be done to save us Jesus already did.  The only work we have to do is believe!

28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

John 6:27-29 (NKJV)
