Blessing of Being Acknowledged
Nothing makes me feel better about being a wife and mother than when my family acknowledges what I have done for them and thanks me for it. So many times we as humans are focused on each others faults. What blesses us is when someone notices our efforts. It is hard work to change focus and begin to exercise the positive by acknowledging what our loved ones are doing right. It is swimming against the flow of the river, but an exercise that delivers thanksgiving.

Putting it on Paper
As children of God we have the ability to acknowledge what God is doing in our lives, and the blessings He has bestowed upon us. Other than choosing not to complain, and choosing faith I believe this to be on list that blesses our God. Making a list of how God is working in our lives not only blessed Him, but blesses us as well. It lays it all out for our eyes to see making it our focus.
Personal Revelation of His Working in My Life
One way I have learned this week to acknowledge how He is working is by understanding healing is a process. The last class I am taking this semester is Divine Healing. In the two texts I have been reading for the class I have come to understand God as healer, and healing as a process that is meant to result in wholeness of spirit, soul, and body.
One of the chapters focused on looking at our experience of God as Healer and recognizing the evidence that we are in that process. Like anyone I want to be completely healed instantaneously, but that is not how I have experienced God working in my life. I am reminded of the words of Joyce Meyer, “I am not where I want to be, but I am not where I used to be.” I see the areas of my life that have been touched by the Healer and I recognize I am closer to wholeness although there are still struggles I am facing daily.
Faith Restored and Effective
Acknowledging how God is working in this one area of my life restores my faith in Him. It helps me to remember that I may not see Him working, but I can expect that He is.
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 NIV
Making a list of how God is working in our life builds our faith, and then once our faith has been built up in God then we can effectually minister to others.
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Philemon 1:6 KJV
Your Inventory
How is God working in your life? Last week I posed a question about what was in your blessing inventory. Share what you found in a comment, or where you see God working in your life. I guarantee that the change in focus will yield a harvest of thanksgiving to God.
