Origins of Expectation

There is a time prior to the knowledge of pregnancy that only God knows of the existence of a new creation.  Not even mother knows she is pregnant.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV

A holy secret of the womb originates in darkness. Life springs forth and only God knows what is to come of it.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

When Eve was made Adam was in the dark. Only God knew that it was not good for man to be alone.

And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. Genesis 2:21-22 NKJV

When the angel visited Mary to tell her that she would be the mother of the Messiah , and that the Holy Spirit would over shadow her and she would conceive, she did not know when. She was also in the dark.

Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.  Luke 1:34-35 NKJV

Whatever you are going through in your walk with God you must know that in the darkness great things are conceived.  You may not understand what you are going through, however ,God knows what He is planning and planting in the secret place.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”  Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV

Place your hope in God alone.  Put your expectations in Him and conceive that those He begins a good work in He brings to completion.

 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;  Philippians 1:6 NKJV
