But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Matthew 6:6 NKJV

This week I have been in a stupor in the healing process. I really haven’t talked to anyone about what I am going through. Instead I am taking the secret places of the heart straight into the secret place with God.
The One true God meets me there and administers intensive grace. Here I can reveal to Him what He already knows. Why? Because I need to reveal the secrets. We are only as sick as our secrets. So going before Him to allow Him to apply His healing balm to my wounds of old, allows me to let go of the secret. Entrusting it to Him.
In our secret communion He takes the secret and gives grace, mercy, and abundant love. But, if I hold on to the secret then my heart and hands are not empty to receive what He has to give.
It becomes heavier and heavier until I cannot move. Until I have no choice to lay it down. When I let go He lifts the load upon Himself and lightens my heart with the filling of His grace. Face to face.
I’ve been walking the path to healing for a long time. Due to many wounds and many years of carrying the burden of a past filled with abuse, sin, shame, and secrets the process waxes and wanes. There are layers of protection I have had to let go of in order to let Him in. I have over and over again had to trust God with the layers of protection, the good, and the bad, and the ugly.
It is never easy, but not every secret is safe with man. Man sees the good, the bad, or the ugly and regards it as who we are. God sees intentions of the heart. God sees a woman bent over having given all she has to physicians, and counselors and yet is not healed. He sees a woman reaching for His garment to touch the hem, and He places the robe of righteousness on her.
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
Isaiah 61:10 NKJV
Taking the secrets into the light is taking them to Jesus. Telling someone is important to the healing process, but the secret first needs to be regarded by us in His light. There He shines on the dark places and the light overcomes them.
Are you struggling with the secrets you have kept for so long. Beloved, God knows. He knew you before He formed you in the womb and knew all about what you would say or do, and what would happen to you. Don’t be afraid of the secret places of the heart because they are dark. God invites you to allow His light to overcome them. In that secret place there is abundance of healing, and the direction you need in order to reveal the secrets you hold to others who can walk with you and point you towards grace.
Don’t be afraid of the secret place. Don’t be afraid to let go face to face with God who is Love. Take your fears, your doubts, your anger, you unforgiveness, your tears, your depression, and all else before Him. Let it go and receive grace for every wound.
