An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We have all heard that before, but what could it mean to us as Christians? Everything. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The very tabernacle of God. In order to serve Him, it is important that we treat the tabernacle like we would the church we attend every Sunday. I know some people who will not clean their home until the church is clean, but the church is “us” folks. So we need to take care of ourselves.
It includes in no specific order:
How much sleep we get.
How much water we drink.
What our diet consists of.
Proper Hygiene
Getting Regular Check Ups
Monitoring our mental health (many do not realize that the mental state of a person affects their physical health).
Balancing Work and Play
These are all necessary to maintaining our health. Just by monitoring our health in this way we can prevent illness. But, there is more…
Remaining in Christ, being active in prayer and confession of who we are and all we have because of Him, such as a right to divine health and wholeness is just as important.
Daily doses of spiritual food, and a drink of living water is more important than our physical intake of food.
Honor God today by deciding to take a look at your overall health. Make decisions that honor Him so His tabernacle is pristine.
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthian 6:19-20 NIV

Totally agree. We should all have a daily health check.
