Shalom~Nothing Missing Nothing Broken

A Cracked Egg

Most of us know the story of Humpty Dumpty. He was an egg that fell off the wall and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put him together again. I was thinking of this story in regards to wholeness and this is what I have decided to be true.

Humpty Dumpty could have been made whole, but he was looking to men to put him back together.  He didn’t even bother to rely on himself to fix his brokeness either.

God could make him a whole egg if He wanted if Humpty would let Him. God could even make him into all he was meant to be in the first place. His original purpose was to be a chicken.

The Broken Can Be Whole

So why did Humpty sit on the wall? Was he pondering his purpose in life? No one knows. However, in the end he fell and ended up broken.

Sometimes in our lives we fall and are broken. Sometimes we are pushed and are broken. Either way we all long to be whole.

If we let God, He can make us whole. I would like to share some of my experiences of being broken and the journey to wholeness.  This I pray in conjunction with God’s life-giving word is meant to be encouragement for you to seek healing or for you to share with someone who you know needs healing in their life.

Don’t Let Fear Keep You From Peace

God tells us to follow the path of peace. He also tells us to be peacemakers not peacekeepers. To understand true peace let’s look at the words of our Savior:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 NIV

The word peace in this scripture means Shalom Shalom. That interpreted means nothing missing and nothing broken. Will you join me each Monday as we dare to face our pain and brokenness so that God can make us whole?

Some of us are physically broken, some are emotionally broken, and some are spiritually broken.

Each of these parts of us makes up the whole. Beloved, God wants us to prosper and be in health. Whether or not anyone else can see our brokenness Jesus was broken that we may be whole; that we may be healed.  Fear can keep us from traveling with the Lord toward wholeness.

We will examine the journey that is required to bring forth the peace we seek.  I am grateful to have you join me in the journey.  ❤ Melinda

Let these words flood your soul from the book of Isaiah as you sit before God in all your brokenness let Him speak to you.

61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
