Faith, Prayer

Stength For My Brethren

If I was to ask for a show of hands regarding who wants someone to pray for them, I bet yours would be raised. I would definitely raise both hands myself.

To me there is no greater gift someone can give me.  Why?  Because prayer is a mighty expression of our faith and hope in God.  A call on His goodness, His mercy, and His grace.  It is an opportunity to commune with the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end of all things.  It is an expression of hope in His promises.

When we pray we call on God’s power for His will to be done on earth. When we pray according to His will then we are promised He will answer. If we don’t pray there will be no answer.

How do we know what His will is? We search the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), complete work of His word, for what we are praying about. Then we wait for the answers trusting that He exalts His word above His name.

There are times in every believer’s life when we doubt we have been heard, and the faith of another stirs our own faith to believe. There are yet other times when we question that prayers were prayed according to His will.

In times of temptation, trials, and doubt there is a comfort to you and me. Jesus prayed for me. He prayed for us. My faith is sure that if Jesus prayed for me, for us, then it was according to God’s will considering He is God. Those prayers were definitely heard. They will be answered.

If the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, then how much more the prayers of God? (James 5:16)

Luke 22 tells us that Satan longs to sift us as wheat, but Jesus said He has prayed for us. What did He pray? That our faith wouldn’t fail.

Some of us have been through the mill where our faith is concerned, and some of us have fallen flat on our faith face.  But while we are down there we can:

Praise God. Rejoice! God prayed for us, and Jesus our Lord is now in heaven interceding on our behalf. If God be for us who can be against us? How much more boldly will you come to the throne knowing He has prayed for you to succeed, and then gives the answers to those prayers! (Romans 8:31, Hebrew 4:16)

Meditate on the fact that Jesus prayed for you every day this week by reading John 17.  Read through the High priestly prayers of Jesus, and let them stir your faith to pray with confidence.

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV

How can I pray for you Beloved? Leave a request in the comments below.  It would be my pleasure to pray for you. ❤ Melinda
