Thankful for Vacation

I just recently went on vacation with my family.  We had not been anywhere together except for twice in many months.  Our only working vehicle is a truck that seats two.  Our family of five has to pick and choose strategically who can go where.  Well, in the midst of our summer of wondering if we would get to go on vacation God provided extra work for my husband in side jobs.  He has been receiving so many calls for electrical work that he has had to turn some down.

So we were able to rent a car and we headed to the beach.  I am so thankful because I have really been exhausted.  Trying to be a college student and a mom to kids home for the summer is just part of the reason.  The last few years have been challenging to say the least, and many changes have been brought about in our lives as God has been positioning us where He knows we will best be blessed and able to minister effectively out of that blessing.  We have had to leave family, friends, a church home, a vehicle, and more behind on the way to where God has us going.

Wiped Out

Though vacation was restful, and my family enjoyed quality time together with many laughs and wow moments over God’s creation, I am still exhausted.  Many people have been ones to say, “I need a vacation from this vacation.”  However, ours was really relaxing, and so I wondered why I was so wiped out.  Then I heard a word in due season that really put things in perspective. “The Lord will fight for you (Exodus 13-14) , and grace is a gift of God not of works. (Ephesians 2:8)”

When we have done all to stand it is time to stand still and see the salvation of our God! When the battle has become too much for us it is time to let God fight for us.  We can get caught up in the fight and wear ourselves out trying to stand in our own strength.  So, I am resting on His bosom and very thankful that His Word can carry the weight.  So I decided to focus today on what He has done for me, and choose a promise from His Word once I am reminded of His faithfulness.

Turning These Eyes Upon Jesus

I am dedicating every Wednesday to giving God His worth by posting what has inspired praise in my life.  I want to turn  my eyes toward His faithfulness, and hopefully inspire praise that will give Him the glory that is due Him.  It will remind each of us of His faithfulness and inspire faith to believe His promises.  Because I am terrible at trying to commit to one more thing and keep at it, I decided to do this weekly.   This will ensure that if I daily fall away in giving Him the glory due Him, I can refocus on Wednesday.

Worth Ship Wednesday Journal

I have begun a Worth Ship Wednesday journal.  Worth Ship means giving someone their worth.  After I privately write in my journal I will return glory to Him through a post that reminds you to rest in His faithfulness and give Him the glory. I pray it will glorify God and encourage you.  Will you join me on Wednesday in giving God His worth through our praises and thanksgiving?

Take a few moments now and focus on what God has done for you.  Then just thank Him in your own way.  Let this time be a focus on who He is and what He has done, and before you know it you will be praising Him for what He is doing, and will do.

Here is a promise to focus on this week which has inspired me to give glory to God:

    Why do you say, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord;
    my cause is disregarded by my God”?
