Audience of One

Audience of 0ne~14

Have you ever felt as though everyone wants or needs your attention?   When you finally get alone, do all their voices in your head seem to dominate your ability to be still?  Sometimes you just want to scream, “Would everyone up there just take a seat and be quiet!”

Then when you gather a sense of stillness you fight exhaustion?

I tell you what I do in those moments.  I worship in song.  As I do my attention turns to God, and I am able to focus on the audience of One.

I’ll pull an old hymnal off the shelf and look for what song jumps off the page.  If everyone is asleep, I’ll go to a private room in the house and sing.  If you don’t have a hymnal, search your heart for a familiar song that you know, or Google works great.  You may also play a song you can sing with.

Before you know it, you will be raptured by the worship into stillness.  God dwells in the praises of His people.

We are so blessed to have a God whose worship blesses us right back.  Sing, and you will be still and know He is God!

Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing.  Psalm 100:2 NKJV

You will keep
him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  Isaiah 26:3 NKJV
