We ask ourselves all of these questions when we think about prayer. Then we ask another…For who?
Prayer is not complicated, but we sure do make it out to be don’t we?
What is the last prayer you prayed? Did you have a list of rules you followed? Was there a list that prompted you? Did you pray for a minute or for an hour?
Prayer is not meant to be made up of our regulations and guidlines. Don’t let rules about prayer keep you from praying anymore. There are books everywhere about how to pray appropriately. Which one is right?

Prayer was meant to be a time of intimacy and communication with a loving God. He knew we needed Him, would need Him, and do need Him. He doesn’t need our prayers. We do. Others do.
Today make an effort to throw out the preconceived notions about prayer and have a conversation with God. Talk to Him like you would your best friend. He is in fact the best one you have got! If you have questions about prayer ask Him to reveal the answers to you.
Until then…Just talk to your Great Loving Tender Caring God!

Really y’all I’m just another Samaritan woman seeking living water and pouring out where I see need for encouragement. I am 48, mother to four girls ages 16-26, Gigi to the most handsome 2-year-old little boy, Fibromyalgia warrior, minister, writer, and a lifetime learner.
I am writing my first book, slowly but surely, six chapters in, as our blessed first love has called me to share His glory in my story. I feel lost in that familiar desert place, and thankful for the manna that is there miraculously every day. I am a certified women’s biblical counselor through the Extraordinary Women's program at Light University. I am working on their Addiction and Recovery program now too. Yes, I am a glutton for punishment with a wealth of life experiences with which I can minister comfort to others. I think my most common holdup about prayer is that it will take too long. Crazy, huh? I can talk to God all day long, even as I’m doing other things. That has nothing to do with time. So there’s a holdup busted.

When I was younger, I prayed a lot about myself. Now that i’m — uh, not as young as I used to be — I find myself prayer more for others. And somehow in all that my own prayers get answered, too.
