There are two ways to look at something. Either the small parts, or the big picture. Over the last few, long, years of therapy I have been analyzing the small parts of my past in order to understand the big picture of who I am. Like a puzzle, God has been revealing the pieces one by one in order to restore me. I am not finished mind you, but I have learned a whole heap about who I am and who He says I am.
The definition of restoration can be stated as bringing something or someone back to their original condition, or better condition, than before. Check out Isaiah 61:4. I read that and whispered, “I want that Lord.” How about you?
My family went on a short, three day, two night getaway this past weekend. We went to the Virginia Air and Space Center in Hampton the last day. We went through their Grossology exhibit first. It was all about the human body and the gross stuff like boogers, etc.. It was really neat! One of the displays was Professor Nose a Lot who talked about allergens, colds, and snot. We could look through the microscope and see the tiny pollen, ragweed, dust mites, and other objects that cause us to sneeze. Amazing how something so tiny can cause us to sneeze at one hundred miles an hour. Whew! I may not run fast, but I sure can sneeze.
Following Grossology we went upstairs to the NASA displays and saw the displays of earth in relation to the rest of what inhabits space. It was so clear that God is HUGE! We are like the ant farm they sold in the gift shop in proportion to God. But, if you take your eyes off Him and focus on those tiny things that antagonize us, then we make the problems in our lives out to be bigger than Him. We place those things under the microscope and focus on them. That is idolatry. It is time to change our focus and trust God is as HUGE as He says He is. Check out the F.O.C.U.S. page by clicking the tab at the top of the page. It contains insight into changing your focus. If we are the ant farm then how small are our problems to God? Blessings Beloved as you change your focus, and turn your eyes toward Jesus.<3 Mindy
