Courage, Dreams

Dream a little dream? No!

Sitting here in my office I see a sign I made for myself.  It is a reminder about dreams God gives us.  Many of us dream of a lot of things, but do we dream Big?  The sign is a quote from an unkown author.  It is:

“God gives dreams a size too Big so we can grow into them.”
I can’t remember where I saw it, but probably over at Heart to Heart with Holley.  She is a Dayspring blogger.  You can find her blog link over on the right.  She has been blogging about God sized dreams.
This week has been all about dreams for us.  Last week we dreamed of a White Christmas.  My kids dreamed of Christmas gifts, and then Christmas morning came with Big surprises.  I remember when I asked them to write a list for Santa Clause.  My child said, “Mama, will we have enough money for these things?”  I told her that she did not have to worry about that and to just write her list with anything she desired.  God gives us our desires.  His words to us tell us that above all things He wants us to prosper.  Yet just like my daughter we ask God if we have enough for our dreams.  We forget that He dreamt first of us, and all of His creation.  That He is the ultimate dreamer and does not want us to limit Him.  He wants us to walk by faith and not by what we see.
I started as a new student at Grand Canyon University yesterday.  My Major is Counseling.  I have had a dream to open a Christian Counseling Center down the road a short way from our home.  One hundred and forty acres have been for sale for six years.  I have prayed often over the land and stopped and claimed it for God’s glory.  Now that is scary to walk out, but I still do it. I know without God this dream can’t happen.  Maybe that is what He wants us to remember.
So, let’s dream a Big dream, and we can keep the little ones too.  They all add up to that Big dream we want to believe in.
I picture my youngest in my wedding shoes.  She is four, and likes to wear my size “12” gold heels and pretend she is getting married.  They don’t fit, sometimes she stumbles, but she keeps putting them on anyway trying to walk in them.  Each day she grows slightly and eventually her feet will fit better.  Boy are they loud as they clunk across the floor.
What are the Big dreams you are trying to walk in?  Leave a post below about walking in those dream shoes.  When you stumble remember I have mine on too. Though we have to face doubt we can do it because God put the dream in us. It may take a while for us to grow into them, but it will look great on us and glorify God when we finally do. He wears some BIG shoes.
Blessings to you all.  Here are some scriptures for meditation this week:
Psalm 37:4, Matthew 6:33, 2 Corinthians 5:7, Phillipians 4:13, Job 42:2, 3 John 1:2
